Hastshilp is a small family business, run by Aadil and Megan. Pronounced as “hast-shilp it means handicraft in the Hindi language, something we fully embrace. All our unique designs are drawn by hand in the UK, and handcrafted in Aadil’s hometown in North India by local independent artisans. Hastshilp was built on a foundation of ethical and sustainable practices, producing our items on a small scale with a steady production. All our items are made using the traditional process of cane craftsmanship, by artisans whose skills have been passed down through generations.
We work on a small scale with independent artisans who work from their own
shops and homes. Ramu works alongside his son and a team of other local artisans,
skillfully handcrafting each item with the traditional process of cane craftsmanship. By working independently with us, Ramu and his team are able to earn a more than fair wage of living, creating a secure life and future for their
families.
