Beth Rodway, ‘Fuilles’
Beth Rodway, ‘Fuilles’
Rodway’s works have consistently focussed on telling stories. The artist creates sets for the imagination - designed spaces and homes for us to fill. Her background in architecture provides an immensely beautiful perspective. They are structurally sound, yet unexpected and elusive. Beth Rodway enjoys playing with juxtapositions: the disparity between the architectural and the human-made is referenced with the untamed nature inside and out. The supple, curved lines contrasted with the modernist lines of the architecture. Giant panes of glass are framed with bold, climbing plants, and wild trees penetrate the skies. Paintings here are remembered and imagined. (Text by Molly Barnes)
