Our twisted candles are made in Livorno by a family of candlemakers who have been working there since 1805, with the craft passed down through seven generations. Each candle is dipped by hand in a bath of opaque coloured wax, then left for a day before a second dip in a natural cellulose varnish. The varnish is left to dry on its own, without ovens, for up to six days, which gives them their glossy, almost lacquered finish. Use one on its own, or put a few colours together for a table that looks set with care.
