Mairead Haldorsson is a British artist based in Lisbon. Whether working in ink, acrylics, oil pastel or clay, she builds a visual world that is imaginative, raw, and alive with personality. Her practice is rooted in spontaneity and bold mark-making, weaving together the mythical and uncanny, yet rooted in human vulnerability.
Playful and occasionally poignant figures appear, inhabiting scenes that feel intimate, otherworldly or sometimes, just plain silly. Ultimately, her works aim to explore joy, strangeness, and vulnerability with wild abandon.
