Jasmyn Fraser is an artist based in East Sussex. She creates painted gardens, keeping flowers in bloom all year round. From her studio in Sussex, she makes images of flowers and foliage found in the natural environment.

Intricately painted from foraged flowers, her paintings celebrate the vibrant colours and delicate textures found in her surroundings. Harking back to Dutch Masters, each piece is a curation of flora and foliage made with rich oils and a plethora of pigments.

Tulips, originally from the mountains of Central Asia, were so highly prized in 17th century Holland that a single rare bulb could cost more than a house, sparking one of history’s most infamous market crazes. The unique streaks in early tulips, caused by a virus, were once seen as a desirable feature and remain a sought-after trait in modern varieties.
